Sue Wilson Configuration Dies - Friendship Card

a Cut at Home Design Team Project

Sue Wilson has a new collection of dies out called configuration dies.  They allow you to place multiples of the same die cut together to form new configurations.  Today I'm going to share a greeting card I made with the Sue Wilson Milford Adornment die.

This die creates a lovely lace edge like the one shown above, but when combined with three more of the same die cut you can create a nice frame to house a photo or in this instance the mat with the shoe.  I chose to slice the sole and heel of the shoe to slip them over the die cut to give the appearance of the shoe stepping out of the frame.

The decorative papers for this card are from Heartfelt Creations All Glammed Up Collection.  The flowers are created from the Heartfelt Creations Blazing Poppy Petals stamp and die sets.

Please join me on today's video as we do a start to finish making this card.  I'll also share other configurations of the die cuts to give you more ideas of how to join two or more together.

Sue Wilson Scandinavian Collection Birthday Card

a Cut at Home Design Team Project

Today's card uses the Sue Wilson Scandinavian Collection of dies including the Background set, Border, Corner and Strip set and the Stockholm set.  I also used the Stamps To Die For Floral Flourish Oval Duo stamps.

The video will share what each die cut looks like, how I put my card together and other still photos.  I used foam tape between the layers on the front to pop them above one another so all the little curls and flourishes would stand out.

With these dies you get the outer cutting die which cuts the embellishment completely out of your paper.  Or, you can use the decorative piece by itself to cut out only the die with out cutting away the excess.  This is how the front of the card is made, the decorative part is cut into the paper leaving the border around.  By trimming the excess I ended up with a nice card base.

The inside uses the Corner and Strip along with the mat from the Stockholm set.  I used a beautiful piece of ribbon that just arrived in a Happy Mail box from Manuela (Bunny Bow).  It was perfect timing for my card.  The sentiment is stamped with Dusty Concord distress ink using a stamp set from my stash, Taylored Expressions Notable Blooms.
