Upcycling! Trash to Oh La La.

a Canvas Corp Brands CREW project

Recently I placed an order for some spices online and when it arrived it came in this bright, shiny, yellow box.  I think I was more excited over the box than what was in it.  From the first moment I knew I was going to have to alter that box into something fun and useable.

I know, I know, I throw you that great tease and then what do I do just give you this little snippet of a photo.  But you can already see the fantastic effet the High Impact Aqua paint made over the shiny yellow of the original box!  Pretty cool huh?  I'd love for you to pop on over to the Canvas Corp Brands Blog and take a look at the complete project.

Not only is there the transformed box but also the cutest little mini tucked neatly inside.  You're going to love how I've used the Architextures Collection to make this mini!

As always I've added a video to the mix, a complete walk through of the box and mini.  But wait!  This time I'm sharing a playlist of three videos, two are process videos, how to alter the box and how to make the mini so if you'd like to replicate my idea with any box you have lying around this will give you great food for thought.  The entire Playlist can be found here Upcycled Box & Mini Playlist

Please check out the complete blog post - Upcycled Box and MIni Book using Architextures Collection   over on the Canvas Corp Brands Blog.

Shangri-La Cards

My friend Ale, from Alessandra Designs, created this beautiful kit called Shangri-La.  I've had it for a couple of months but just have been side tracked with other projects.  Normally I would have used Ale's kit for digital scrapbook pages, but I just loved the papers so much I wanted to see how they would look as greeting cards.

I cut the lady and tiger out and then recut out just the lady and popped her up for dimension.  I added some glitter gel pen to the leash and glitter glue to her fur on her outfit.  I'm liking the finished effect.
This paper I'm totally in love with, the snowflakes are just so very very pretty.  I decided it would make the perfect card to give with a gift.  I took Ale's snowflake and reprinted it and covered it with silver glitter.

This last card is my favorite, it is so soft and gentle looking.  I took the bird and reprinted, added the silver glitter and popped him up on a metal branch.  The sentiment continues on the inside saying - Our hearts, our prayers, and our love are with you, this is a rub on from My Sentiments Exactly.  So simple and yet it has such effect.

Don't discount digital kits, they give you so much added flexibility in your card designs.  Ales' designs are here at Digitals, please check her store out.

Christmas Cookie Tree Card

Finally I've gotten something done!! I work with Alessandra from Brazil who designs for Digitals and she just made this darling Action

You can buy this at a number of stores but I'm partial to Digitals
I'm really hoping she'll come out with more so I could end up with a whole set.

I ran the Action in PS CS3 and printed it. (Super simple to run - Amazing all the steps she went through to make it!) Then I printed it on cardstock and added glitter and stick on pearls. I had this piece of twine that worked perfect for the bow.

It's simple but it's a step in the right direction! I made something!!!
