Tom and Tilly in Love

I have a super fun card to share with you today, Penny Black's Slapstick Cling stamp Tom and Tilly take center stage sharing their love in no uncertain terms.  I chose to take the bouquet of flowers Tilly was holding off and replace it instead with the die cut LOVE from Spellbinder's In'Spire line.  You can choose to use this card for either a Valentine sweety or an Anniversary card for a special couple.

The background was created with Stratford Watercolor paper and Gelatos. What fun are these to play with, just like going back to childhood in your finger-painting years.

I also added some Lindy's Byzantine Bronze embossing powder to the heart 

to give it a little more shimmery pzazz!

Cherish Happiness

I made this card for a dear friend of mine getting inspiration from Melissa Phillips in the June 2010 Cards Magazine.  I layered papers which I inked heavily under the lace.  

The lighting on this photo is horrid but I wanted you to see the card from this angle so you'll have to overlook it.  The flower is one I received in a swap at YPP from Natalie Wathins, thanks Natalie, I love it!  I stuck a stick pin I had made through the flower and lace to finish it off.

The bling inside and out is from Recollections, the butterfly from Websters Pages.  Under the sentiment I took a page from an old novel and tore and inked the edges.  I used Vintage Photo, Peeling Paint and Worn Lipstick Distress inks on the print to give it the same tones as the papers.  The sentiment I printed out on my computer and inked it with the above Distress Inks.

The little ticket is from the Tim Holtz idea-ology line and the stamped sentiment on it was from a set of old Stampin Up stamps I picked up at a garage sale.  The base of the card is Kraft Cardstock.

Challenge #48 - Water It!

I made this card for my daughter and son-in-law for their anniversary.

Don't ya just 'luv' these litter gators?

This is a digital stamp from The Paper Shelter

I used Copic Markers for coloring and restamped the image a second time on

plain white cardstock.  After coloring I cut out all the colored pieces and

glued them on top the stamped image.

The cat tails have an additional layer of Doddlebug Design crushed velvet on them

And the hearts have been popped up for dimension and covered with Glossy Accents

The 'love' sentiment I got at Michaels in the Wedding section
I used a fine mist of Tattered Angels Iridescent Gold over the whole card
and then added a smattering of Diamond Stickers to the sky

Around The World Challenge 1

Vicky from Clips-n-Cuts has started a new challenge this week. She'll post a picture from some where around the world for inspiration and you take it from there. Well I must say this was harder than I thought! I loved the photo she used, of course it's Greece because that's where Vicky is from, such a beautiful country! I loved the sharp contrast of blue and white with the hint of cream but no matter what I tried I just couldn't seem to achieve that clean crisp look this time around, so the following is what I ended up with, perhaps I'll still have time to try it one more time.

I had just picked up these metal embellishments from JoAnns and was itching to use them, this will be an anniversary card so perfect sentiment. The papers are a mix, the Solid blue from Debbie Mumm's Textured Cardstock pack, the print I believe is K & Co but don't quote me on that, the card base is plain white cardstock.

I embossed the blue triangle with my Cuttlebug and the Traffic Jam folder and then used a sanding block to lift some of the blue from the paper and finished by using my Tim Holtz destressor on the edges.

I wrapped and tied brown hemp string around it knotting in several places.

I wish I could name the stamp for you.  It came stamped in the mail from a friend and I don't know whose it is. I colored it with my Copic markers.

Anniversay Wishes - Inspired By ....

 I saw this beautiful card on Amazing Paper Grace blog. I just loved the look of it and wanted to do something similar. I didn't have any of these beautiful lace frames she used so I cut one out on my Cricut that I had downloaded from Monica's Creative Room blog. I wish I had used a different paper, this one was pretty lightweight and didn't give the effect I was hoping but it was still pretty enough once put together to not trash.

The oval chipboard was from a set I had bought eons ago and never used. When I was hunting last night I thought there was no reason why I couldn't repaper it and use it, worked great.

The sentiment is a rub on from My Sentiments Exactly, the floral background paper is K & Company, ribbon is Michaels.

Don't you love this trellis???

It's a Martha Stewart punch called Garden Trellis that I just got, I love it!

This is the second card I made from the Folded Paper Frame tutorial from Split Coast Stampers. I really like this and it's just so simple to do.

Papers are from a set I got from Costco, card base, Martha Stewart paper.

Alien Anniversary

When Vicky from Clips and Cuts posted her Alien Love card I knew I had to make one. I didn't have the Hero Arts stamps she used but Lost in Paper Scraps blog had this darling One Eyed Monster as a free digital download.

I colored them with my Marvy makers and redid the eye and popped it up using Glossy Accents to make it pop. I also added a drop of Glossy Acents to each heart.

This darling quote is a rub on from My Sentiments Exactly.

Woven Circle Card

I saw a card like this on Stemple Album blog and so fell in love with it that I just had to try myself. Hers was much neater than mine, I think perhaps my circle was a little too wide, I'll try again and keep playing because I love the idea just have to finesse the assembly a little better. The flower on the front is a from a pack of Easter cards I picked up for next to nothing last year. I embossed the front edge of my card with the Cuttlebug added the wonderful MSE sentiment inside and out. Sorry not sure what pak the inside paper is from, a friend gave it to me, pretty huh?
