Can't Turn Back the Clock

My other half's birthday is Monday and I wanted a special card for him.

I took inspiration from Smitha Katti's card in the May/June 2012 Paper Crafts Magazine.

I just loved her card (Love You Dad Card, page 80),

 it had a Graphic 45 piece of paper on it with men's shoes from The Gentlemen collection.

So cool!  But I hunted and didn't have that paper but did have this one, also Graphic 45,

that had the shirt, tie,cuffs and collar (from the Romantique collection). 

Since my guy wore a suit and tie daily to work his whole career I thought this was a perfect fit!  

 The top strip, and the envelope in the first picture, are from a paper stack
that I got years ago at Costco.  If anyone knows who made this paper would
you leave a comment?  I just love it!

I added a brad and a strip of 7 Gypsies clock face paper
from the 6x6 Paddington stack
(which I just saw at Tuesday Morning for $1.99 for the pad can you believe that!!!)

 I found the inside sentiment online and printed it out on my computer.
Inked the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink

 I finished the card with 3 small buttons
and a Happy Birthday (Hero Arts) stamp done with
Perfect Pearls in Bronze

Masculine Birthday

Masculine cards sometimes are my challenge so when my Brother-in-laws birthday

approached I went in search of some papers that had that 'man' feel about them

I opted to use the Destinations pack

Kindness!

When I was home last month I had a chance to go to a Stampin Up party with my daughter. I've only been to a couple and it was fun. One of the stamps she had there was this darling Heard it from the Heart collection.

I've often seen crafters stamp on ribbon but this is the first time I'd tried it myself and it worked perfectly. The background stamp is a background cling from Hero Arts called Antique. I stamped the butterflies again and then popped them over the matted one.

I finished the card with a small bow around the pink ribbon.

Butterfly Mini's

These four cards were inspired by a card I saw in the Cards July 2010 issue posted by Maile Belles of Simply Stamped Blog.  She is just so talented, be sure and stop by her blog and let her inspiration rub off on you too!

Each card is just a tad different and each one I made I thought I liked the best until I did the next one, lol. I used two punches the butterfly EK Success and the flower by Fiskars. I'm loving these mini punches! The sprig of pearls were in a goody bag a friend recently gave me. Sentiments above and below are from MSE rub ons.  The ribbon doily on under the sentiment is from Basic Grey and comes on a roll - 3 different designs to a pack and has an adhesive strip on the back that you just remove and stick.  

Little gemstones are from Kaiser Crafts.

Hola!

This card was made for the Around the World Challenge #3-Mexico at Clips-n-Cuts  Loved the bright primary colors.  If you haven't played along it's a must!  At the end of the challenge you'll have the opportunity to vote for your favorite interpretation/inspiration of the picture.

I used alpha Glitter Stickers from K & Company for the Hola and a stamp from Hero Arts - All Occasion set for the 'just saying hello'

Sombrero was cut from the Paper Doll Dress up Cart and my Cricut Expression.

Blue cardstock backgrounds embossed with my Cuttlebug and the Swirls and Dots and Texture folders.

Easel Fold Card

I saw a Challenge today at Digtial Tuesday Challenge that was to make a card with a fold in it. I keep seeing these Easel fold cards but had yet to make one. How fun is this? I love how it turned out. If I had been thinking it through a little more I would have dropped my 'so happy for you' stamp down to the lower part so you could see it as it sat as an easel, but no matter, it's ok for my first try.

The top stamp is Hero Arts the bottom is Inkadinkado. The bird frame is an SVG file from Doodle Licious. The side punch is EK Success.

Papers are from a set gotten from Costco, I sure wish I knew who's they are because they are wonderful double sided paper and of course not available there anymore.

Belli Challenge #84 - RIBBONS

I made this for the Belli Challenge #84 using ribbons on it. I will also use this one for the Crafty Card Creators Yahoo group swap, the image was supplied by them. The little butterfly and bird are stamps, cut out and popped up with foam dots.

Just saying hello stamp from Hero Arts. Paper from Martha Stewart.

Ribbon from the cheap bin at Michaels, and I love it, it ties so nicely.

Scalloped edges punched with a border punch from EK Success, love these punches and really like how they lock closed for storage.

In My Heart

OK here's the card I made with the new toys I bought last night, Hero Arts All Occasion Clear Stamp Set and Cuttlebug Embossing folder Leafy Branch. I inked the tops of the leaves with several colors of Color Box ink added the ribbon and brad (not sure where the brad is from. This is the first of 3 cards I made from the one sheet of 12x12 cardstock from Martha Stewart.

A Baby is Sunshine

Here's another baby card I made. I used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots on the front and part of the heart on the inside. Quote is from the net, bassinet and heart from Digitals designers. Stamp on the back, 'Handmade With Love' is from Hero Arts, I've begun using it on all my cards and coloring the hearts to fit the card. The purple of the inside heart scanned a little dark, it's really the same shadings as the front.
