a Cut at Home Design Team Project
Spellbinders has a collection of dies they call their Card Creators grouped in with their Nestabilities. Tranquil Moments is one of these sets and I just love how it looks when cut out. Whether you're wanting a frame, a complete mat, a journaling spot or some tuck in elements you have your choice with the dies. If you snip into one element and cut it into two or more pieces the versatility increases! I did that on the card on the right above.
I paired the Tranquil Moments die with Heartfelt Creations Sun Kissed paper collection, I'd say it's a pretty good pair wouldn't you? I fussy cut one of the larger flower petals from the paper and used it as a pattern to cut several more large petals. I used one of my flowers stylus to give the petals some dimension and then began layering them offsetting the petals. I had fussy cut several more sizes from the paper and ended by adding a Kaisercraft Sparklet to the center.
Since I'm like a lot of you, I'm sure, I couldn't make up my mind if I wanted to make the brown tones or the blues. The easiest solution is to make both! On the blue card I used a metal flower embellishment that I had doctored with white gesso, Tattered Angels Patina mist and Tim Holtz Broken China distress ink to come as close as I could to the blues in the papers.
Come follow along with me on the video and I'll show you exactly how to make each card then you can decide which color combo is your favorite as well.
