With Sympathy Card

a Cut at Home Design Team Project

Today I've used Heartfelt Creations Blazing Poppy paper and stamp collection along with Marianne Designs With Sympathy die to create my sympathy card.  This is a standard A2 card on Kraft cardstock.
Join me on today's video where I share a super trick to getting the raised, multi-colored looked to the die cut.

I stamped the poppies several times and then after coloring them with Tim Holtz Distress inks (on watercolor paper) I fussy cut and popped the layers one atop the other to give a real dimensional look to the front of the card.

Come join me on the video as I introduce you to Heartfelt Creations Blazing Poppy collection sharing the stamps, die and paper pad.  We'll also make the card start to finish.

Spellbinders Floral Gazebo Greeting Card

a Cut at Home Design Team Project

Today's project for Cut at Home features a new die set from Spellbinders Shapeabilites called Floral Gazebo, it's part of the Victorian collection.  You get seven dies including the gazebo, vines, flowers, heart and bird.  I've made a standard A2 sized card on white card stock.
Along with the Spellbinders dies I chose papers from Graphic 45's Gilded Lily and sentiments from Heartfelt Creations Blazing Poppy.  All the mats were torn to reveal the white core of the paper and give a nice framework.

Come join me on the video and we'll create the card together and perhaps I'll share a few other tips I use that you've not tried yet.  For links to the supplies used from the store please check out the Cut at Home Blog

Gift box, note paper and card

a Meg's Garden Design Team Project

Today I'm sharing a gift box, note papers and a card all made with luscious goodies from Meg's Garden store.  I had a gift set that I took apart, painted with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Seedless Preserves and Chipped Sapphire mixed together they create a beautiful deep purple.  I added all the yummy flowers and extras to make it my own personalized gift.  I love these paper roses from Megs, especially the purple ones, and the pink and white gardenias went so well tucked in alongside.

On the note paper belly band I dipped a white gardenia into a watered down solution of the mixed distress ink to get this pretty purple/lavender to match the paper.  I tucked another of the acetate butterflies in.  To get the look the butterfly is floating you leave a tab of the acetate on when you fussy cut them from the sheet and score, fold and glue the tab behind the flowers.  I love how this looks.

All gifts need to include a special card and I took bits and pieces of the scraps from several of Meg's paper collections to make mine.  I know I'm evil and have only given you snippets of my project, that's because I want you to join me on the video to see the rest of it.  Thanks so much for visiting me, please take a moment to leave a comment and subscribe.

A Little Birdy Told Me

a Cut at Home Design Team Project

Today's card features dies from Sizzix's BigZ die Tree and their Framelits set with stamps, A Little Birdy Told Me.  Sizzix has posted a PDF Instruction sheet to help you recreate their card and the one I followed today.

You'll have dies for all the elements in the card including those darling little birds.  Just stamp them with a good ink such as Spellbinders Celebra'tions Berry Black, let the ink dry and then color with  whichever medium you prefer.  For my birds I used several Tim Holtz Distress inks and a waterbrush adding the additional fussy cut beak from an orange cardstock and accenting them with Glossy Accents.  I list the supplies I used from Cut at Home below.

Come join me on the video, we'll go over the supplies together and then I'll do a complete start to finish on how to make this card which will truly bring a smile to whomevers mailbox it arrives in.
