December SWAP - Image

My camera batteries have died so I'll have to make due with this scanned image. It's hard to see here but this is a dimensional card, the little snowman on the left has just his head glued directly to the main image, the center has the top portion and then a third layer with just his scarf and the right image has three layers with foam square on one raising it higher than the rest. The inside says, 'Sending Warm Warm Warm Wishes'

Triple Hearts

Another page taken from inspiration from Stemple Album blog. I used my Cricut, the Plantin Schoolbook heart on Tall Ball so that it would cut the little hole to feed my ribbon, then I switched to the Pink Journey cartridge to cut the Love word art. Edges were inked and foam dimensionals put under the hearts and the mat below them. I used the Forest Branches on the mat.

Woven Circle Card

I saw a card like this on Stemple Album blog and so fell in love with it that I just had to try myself. Hers was much neater than mine, I think perhaps my circle was a little too wide, I'll try again and keep playing because I love the idea just have to finesse the assembly a little better. The flower on the front is a from a pack of Easter cards I picked up for next to nothing last year. I embossed the front edge of my card with the Cuttlebug added the wonderful MSE sentiment inside and out. Sorry not sure what pak the inside paper is from, a friend gave it to me, pretty huh?

With Sympathy

I think the florish is one of the first things I cut on my new Cricut Expression. I really wasn't happen with it but kept working until I ended up with this card. The Sentiment on the front is a rub on from MSE, embossing is with a corner folder by Cuttlebug and the brown background is the Mosaic folder. The flower on front is from Roberts Crafts. Paper is Martha Stewart and DCWV. Laser cut ribbon is from a Costco package.

Wallpaper Flower

This card is made using a wallpaper sample for the flower. I recut the shape on a piece of teal cardstock and then popped it up abit above it. I used Glossy Accents to bring out the dots on the flower and added the ribbon bow, ribbon from Michaels. Corners Chomped with the Corner Chomper. Inside is a part of some old stationary I've had.

Cheers Swap Card

This is a card for the December Cheers Swap at Crafty Card Creators Yahoo Group. I used the Cricut Expression to cut out the wine glass on the front of the card and pasted the cut out glass on the inside. This design is from Annel's Place blogspot. The inside pink dots are a Cuttlebug Edge emboss folder painted with pink glitter gel pen and Glossy Accents added to. The sentiment on the front 'Cheers' is my first attempt at making a welded word in SCAL and cutting it on the Cricut. Took me a few tries but practice well definitely make improvements in this area! Paper is from the Sweet Glitter DCWV stack pak.

Get Well with Cricut cut out

Here's one of the first cards I've made using my new Cricut Expression. I used SCAL to import the Greeting for the front (from SVG Cuts), the three mats behind it are from a label svg file from Doodle Lious.

I used Glossy Accents on the flower and added the stone bling. Inside is a sentiment rub on from MSE. Solid cardstock from Martha Stewart. the first mat behind the sentiment on the front is actually some old notepaper I've been shoving around for years, it had just the right swirls to work great behind this. I also used the Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Blender with my inks on the other mats. This was in my stocking on Christmas morning and I'm loving the soft blended look it's giving my paper. The corners were chomped with the Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper, another present at Christmas!!! I'm lovin' Christmas.

The little bow on the front of the card was made by my Secret Santa Judee, thanks Judee, I'm really loving these tiny bows!!

To My Friend

I ended up cutting out the rest of the pattern that was around the flowers in the prior post. It's so much easier to cut on this heavier wallpaper. What I used here is just a very small portion of what I cut out. I'm definitely looking at patterned papers differently from now on! I used a corner bug embossing folder on the inside and the sentiments are new rub ons I just got from MSE. I love the rub ons I think they're the best I've ever used! It's hard to tell in the pictures, if you enlarge the middle one you'll be able to see that I added small stones to the dots in the pattern.

3D Flowers

I have some wallpaper books and was looking through them for papers suitable for my envelopes when I spotted a page with these gorgeous black and white flowers on them. I cut them out and layered them to give this 3D look. I'm loving it. The checkered paper is also wallpaper

Heartfelt Wishes

I saw this idea on Gina Ks Stamp TV called Split Negative. I didn't have a stamp as large as hers and realized after I was done I probably should have done the one ink gold but never the less I like the effect this makes. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss two of the layers and stamped it with a stamp from Inkadinkado. This will be for the Express Yourself Swap at Crafty Card Creators.
This is the second card I made using the other halves of the split negative. The two cream colored papers are from a discontinued wallpaper book. The stamp is Kathy Davis from Inkadinkado, the metallic strip across the bottom is from Paper Wishes Stickies collection

Blessings Swap Card

Made for the Word Swap at Crafty Card Creators Yahoo Group. You were to use the word Blessing. The dotted paper is from a new paper pak from Ancestry.com (it was a gift from my Secret Santa :-) I used one of my new Fancy Folders corner Cuttlebug embossing folders to make the embellishment next to the greeting. It was embossed, colored with my Marvy Markers and then the outer edges were covered with Glossy Accents. Florish on sentiment is from the digital kit Butterfly Wings 3 Element Pak from Cottage Arts

Yee Haw Christmas

I just loved this stamp from Stampin' Up. The stamp portion that went with it said Yee Haw and have a Merry Christmas. I loved the saying but had a hard time getting the stamp positioned correctly so gave up on a bunch of them and just added my own sentiment.
