Tunnel Card - Thinking of You

We were challenged to create what's called a 'tunnel card' in my Yahoo Group Crafty Card Creators. It is actually two pieces placed together with an aperture cut in the middle of one. I attached the butterfly which I cut two with my Cuttlebug and Embossed the back side with white.

Using My Scraps

A challenge this weekend was to try and use up your scraps. They accumulate at such a fast pace that I thought this would be a good time to try and use up mine. I found this idea for using an edge punch to decorate a small square, I love the effect and hadn't thought about using it this way. I used the Cuttlebug embossing folder Friends Forever that was in with the die cuts for the lighter lavendar square. The little flower in the middle is one that's been floating around in my bin of stuff for a while, I'm not too keen on the felt but thought it was just right for the middle of the card. I've left the inside blank.

Love is Liek a Pathwork Quilt

Done for a challenge of using up your scraps. It's amazing how you can utilize such small pieces in something like this.

Tri Shutter Card

I saw this card online the other day and knew I had to make one. I found the video and instructions on the Resources site of Split Coast Stampers here. The card is actually just a simple rectangular card but what makes it unique is how it's cut and folded. The possibilities are just endless. I must have spent over an hour the other day just looking at all the examples in their gallery here.

This is a marvelous way to use up scraps! I used a crimper on the two side panels, the Cuttlebug on the butterfly and a couple of the small pieces, assorted embellishments I had in my drawer.

Thinking of You

I used the heat gun and embossing powder with the stamp. I think I need to ink up the stamp a little heavier to get a more defined emboss, but still love the look. Used the Swiss Dot Cuttlebug Emboss folder with the paper and the Butterfly die for my little butterfly. Edge was cut with a Fiskars punch. Faux stitching painted on with a white gel pen. I like the inside of the card which is actually two sided paper (the solid is the front base) and I cut it so that the pattern fades on the right so you have room to write your own note. This is more of the Costco paper.

Hey Friend Swap Card

Here's my swap card for the Yahoo Group I belong to Crafty Card Creators. Loving the inside sentiment stamp, it was a bargain I picked up at Tuesday Morning, it's a 4 piece set by Inkadinkado and was only $1.99!! I used my gel pens to hand write the front Hey Friend, that took some practice. Colored the flower stamp (which was a group of stamps I got from Costco last year) with the gel pens.

Heart to Heart Friendship

Doing things a little differently today, trying the scanner vs the camera pics. Not sure I'm happy with the outcome but it'll do I guess for today anyway. This is a composite of my new toys. A new Rollergraph stamp Friendly Words from Stampin Up. I like the idea of a roller but not sure the expense justifies the outcome, guess I'll need to make a lot of cards with it huh? Also I used a new edge punch from Fiskars, it is really stiff to use, not sure whether this is how they are all made or I got a lemon. The last toy is my new heat embossing gun which I used to do the sentiment inside. This I'm really liking, I know it will become one of my favs for stamping words. I just love seeing that ink become embossed with the heat of the gun.

Thanksgiving Swap Card

Created for a Swap at Art Haven Creations Yahoo Group. The square paper on the front is from a Wallpaper book that I got from Sherman Williams. This is the first time I've tried using a wallpaper sample and I'm lovin' it! So many possiblities and the price is right 'FREE'! I added a chipboard greeting from 3Birds, a flower from Mulberry Street, papers from a pack I got from Costco.

Moon Lottery

I joined Art Haven Creations Yahoo Group. One of the things they do is have a card lottery each month. A theme is picked, this month it was Moon, and each person who wishes makes a card using that theme. The winner recieves all entries that were posted. Cool huh?

I used a new digital kit for this card from Cottage Arts called Return of October Element Pak and Paper Pak. These were designed by the very talented Julie Mead.

I printed the image for the front then selected it (using PS CS3) and contracted the selection by 99 and duplicated to a new layer, repeating until I had six layers, they were adhered, one on top of the other, with foam pop ups. Inside I took two background papers and blended them together, added the smoke image from the elements pak, reduced the opacity and added the quotes.

Love how it turned out, hope the winner likes it as well!

October Image Swap

I joined a new Yahoo Group - Crafty Card Creators one of the things I like was they make cards and swap them. I thought it would be great to be able to see hands on how others were creating. You can learn so much with tangible things to look at instead of just the digital on the screen. This card was created using an image supplied by the group. I printed it on white cardstock, tore the edges close to the image and then inked them with two colors. I used pop up foam squares to raise the image from the page, placed it on a plaid background paper from me and my big Ideas, added a bow and a sentiment to the inside. (Image on inside was from a digital kit from Joyce de Jonge at Digitals)

Stampin Up Holiday Camp

I attended a Holiday Stamp Camp put on my Loni Spendlove a local Stampin Up dealer. This has was my first experience with any Stampin Up products or a get together of this sort. I must say I had a ball! I tried so many new techniques that it was a fun filled day! I've included six projects here, we made a seventh, vinyl on glass but my pictures didn't turn out so well so I'll wait until I have it filled with Christmas stuff and repost it then. I loved the roller stamps, the punches (which I've only used a corner rounder and couldn't see why anyone would want punches, oops changing my mind!). This was a great way to try out lots of stuff, find out things I liked and things that were just ok. I'm looking forward to going again, or finding other companies that offer stuff like this.

Whoops I fogot the box we made so have added it here. We made the box and the plastic slip on cover and the six different tags. This was really really fun!!!!

Thankful Mini Album

We used a Sissex Machine to cut this out but I'm sure the die will fit in my Cuttlebug, I haven't done anything this big, gotta try it out. I think I'm gonna find some small pictures to make this a little photo album.
