The Piece by Piece

Recently Beverly from The Piece by Piece Etsy shop asked me if I'd like to return to her Design Team for the remainder of the year. Well, that took about 2 seconds to answer, of course I would.  This week my first Design Team box arrived and I wanted to share Bev's generosity to her team with you.

Please check out the video below

A Big Circle

Viewer's Project

The online crafting world is like a big circle.  Someone shares an idea or a tutorial, you make a project, someone see it and gets inspired and makes their own.  Crafters helping crafters, I think that's why I am so taken with all the talented, inspirational people I've met online.

A while back my friend Clare, My Creative Spirit shared her tutorial Love & Laugh with me.  In turn I did my first Mother Goose Mini with it sharing via YouTube and my blog post.

The response was great and I told everyone that said they thought they might try it the same thing, send me some photos when you're done so I can share.  A few weeks back Joan Leeder did just that.  She had purchased Clare's tutorial and then referred to my Mother Goose mini to make one of her own.  Now that's a complete circle of crafters inspiring crafters.  I love it, it makes my heart sing!

Take a look at the wonderful Mother Goose Album Joan made

So here's my sage words to all of you -

To those of you that create - keep on sharing the inspiration

To those of you that teach - keep sharing the knowledge

To those of that are learning - never say 'I can't do that' sure you can

And to everyone - Have Fun!  There is no WRONG way!  Develop your own style!

and most importantly, when someone needs help, Pass it On!

Hugs everyone have fun crafting!

Just Playing . . .

Hi everyone, just sharing some cards I made with some paper pads I have near my desk (these were the six by six pads).  Perhaps you'll recognize some of the papers and it'll give you a little boost to grab some of your own and make some cards.  No stamping today, I left them blank so I could customize them at the time I need them.

Thanks for stopping by, if you haven't subscribed to my blog I hope you'll become a follower today!

The envelope is made from a wallpaper sample book - they make the BEST envelopes

a tatted doily that is a piece of Heritage lace

Can't get much simpler than this and yet I'd like it if it showed up in my mailbox!

Retro is so the rage right now, I loved the addition of the eyelet cotton lace

And the gingham mat tucked in the front pocket

And the I Love Lucy headband!

This time a Webster;s doily, some metal pieces and a beautiful center rose

Inside is simply scraps and a die cut for a sentiment

Ribbon and a glue gun equals instant flower!

a couple of fish tale tags

and a honeycomb papered inside

with what else, a dragonfly tag!

So are you inspired?  Ready to dig into those odds and ends of papers?  Grab the coffee, tea, water or whatever and prepare to have fun!  Happy Crafting everyone

Sizzix Juke Box Card

a Cut at Home Design Team Project

Sizzix has released some of the cutest retro dies including the Jukebox and Music and the Retro Sign.  I had to laugh when I saw the sign, I'm going to date myself here, but I instantly saw George Jetson from the cartoon sitcom The Jetsons, when I saw that sign.  And I'll tell you I've been singing that theme song for days now!

Along with the Dies, Cut at Home sent me the Sizzix Project Sheet #30372 as well, which I followed as well as I could with the papers I had on hand.  You can find it here if you'd like to make this card as well.

I finished off the inside for an anniversary card for some special people I know who love the 50's and anything Retro but you could use this for any occasion.  I seldom paper the top of the inside but I just love this polka dot and went back and matted it as well.  I like the look I may do it more often.  These dies would also be darling accessories to a mini or scrapbook page.

Below is the step by step video which I really sped up in parts but I wanted you to see how the jukebox is constructed and the card put together.  It's super fun to make and goes together very easily.

Thanks everyone for stopping by, I hope you'll become a blog follower if you haven't already.

Supplies: (in addition to those shown I used, scraps of cardstock; glitter, bling, white ribbon which I die blue/green, versamark, black embossing powder, white cardstock)

Sharing my Winnings from Eva (zebytygl)

Hi everyone, this morning Fed EX delivery brought me a much anticipated package! Several weeks ago I left a comment on a YouTube video in response to a give away a fellow crafter was having.  Guess what????  Yep you're right I won and I have been waiting on pins and needles for the package to arrive from England.

Eva, zebytygl on YouTube, is fairly new (six months or so) of posting videos to YouTube and she offered this giveaway as a stepping stone to increase her subbies.  I was so delighted to win.  Included in the box of goodies were laces that had once belonged to Eva's Grandmother in the Czech Republic.  How exciting is that!

So I've snapped a few photos and included a walk through of the box (on the spot, I saw it when you see it!) in the video below.  I hope you'll join me and see what wonderful new things have been added to my crafty stash from a new friend across the pond.

Oh yes, one last thing, help me share the love and thank you's to Eva for sending me all these goodies.  Pop on over to her YouTube channel and become a new subbie.  She has some beautiful projects she's already shared and I'm sure there will be many more to come.

You can find her here - zebytygl

Heartfelt Creations Sun Kissed Card

a Cut at Home Design Team Project

I like when I can double purpose a card, using it as the card and the gift all rolled into one. By adding a pocket on the front for a Gift Card that's exactly what today's project does.

I used several papers from Heartfelt Creations Sun Kissed fussy cutting flowers and the banner to pop up and give dimension to the front of the card.  I did the centers with Stickles Waterfall Blue, make sure if you use a lot of Stickles like I did that you allow plenty of drying time!  In the pocket behind the banner I tucked some shreds along with the gift card.

Inside I cut a panel from Spellbinders Divine Eloquence and added a cut out from the paper collection that I stamped the sentiment, Journey of a Lifetime.  This is from Heartfelt Creations, Celebrate the Journey Collection.  I also combined the  cut from the leaves of Heartfelt Creations Bella Rose and Spellbinders Hibiscus Corner for added bits inside and out.

One new thing I used was Spellbinders Tool 'n One.  OMG if you cut a lot of dies you MUST add this to your crafty collection of tools!  I love it.  After I had cut the Divine Eloquence mat I removed all the little bits with just a few swipes of the brush.  If the die piece hadn't just popped out I could have attached the point end and poked it enough to lift, then switched to the paddle tool to gently lift the die cut from the die.  This tool is amazing and alleviates the frustration of poking and poking and poking all those little bits from the paper.  Carrie from Cut at Home has a great video out showing this tool in depth if you'd like to check it out here.

Follow along on the video for a complete step by step to make this card.

Thanks for stopping by everyone, if you haven't subscribed to my blog I hope you'll do it today.  Patti
