a French Garden Mini Album

a Meg's Garden Design Team Project

Meg's Garden offers many exclusive collections for the crafting enthusiast.  The French Garden Collection is one of Meg's newest lines designed by the ever talented Denise Boddey.

Seldom do I use white as the base of my albums but the beautiful color combinations of greens and pinks just lent this collection to the softness of white.

Keeping to the softness of the papers I used white for all the side mats and accented the outside with fabric butterflies on the spine.  The flower adornment on the front is a combination of gorgeousness from Meg's Garden resting on a machine stitched piece gifted to me from Bunny Bow.  I left the rest plain, how do you cover up such fabulous papers?

This mini consists of six double spread pages (14 sides in all counting the inside front and back cover).  Accenting with a hint of black here and there just pops the colors on the pages.  Several times I outlined the details on a portion of the page, as around the birdcage above, to create a pocket.  If you decide to do this it's always a good idea to reinforce the fussy cut edge with a layer or two of mod podge on the back.  This really helps with the stability as you slip items in and out of the pockets.

By adding a waterfall of twelve pages I've created a spot to house 24 photos just a tad smaller than the standard 4" x 6".  I hope you'll join me on the video as I walk you through each page and hopefully give you some inspiration and ideas to make your own French Country mini album.

Oh and one last thing, this collection can be purchased in printed 12" square sheets with the added 4" x 12" strip or a journal kit.  You can also purchase the journal kit in digital form.
