Basic Grey Out of Print Bead Bound Mini

I have so much paper and decided I needed to 'use the stash'.  It's so easy to just buy as each new collection comes out, we all love that paper don't we (and bling and flowers and embellies  and... and... and...) I found it's much easier when I have a whole collection to work with. Paper, stickers, chipboard, stamps, flowers, bling.  It's so much harder to hunt and peck and find what looks good together. But it's a nice feeling when you're done knowing that you didn't hit the local scrapbook store or Michaels once during the process!

Most papers are Basic Grey, the Out of Print 6x6 Paper Pad
I added others to fill in from just what I had in supply.
You'll see Prima on the front and lots of K & Co Die Cuts,
For some reason last year, or perhaps the year before, I really went
crazy buying these, not sure why but decided now was the time to
put them to good use.  That's what started the mini, wanting to use
up these cardstock and acetate die cuts.
Next was finding paper that would work will with these colors.

I used Laura from Following the Paper Trail's 
Bead Binding to attach the pages with pony beads as
spacers, these are multi colored and pick up whatever
colors are nearby.

Many pockets, tags, flip ups and outs

The larger tag on the right is strips of leftovers, glued to a backing
paper and then cut to fit the mat.  I like the striped look don't you?

Large mats go into each end pocket, three have double backed
Martha Stewart flowers and the other three have pull tabs.

I did an extra flip out on this page to give a little extra room

The sunflower on the left is a large cardstock die cut which
I added Martha Stewart glitter glue to the center, looks so
nice when you're up close.  It actually has magnets behind that lift
and reveal a larger mat behind

Pockets, envelopes and mini books stashed here and there

The bird on the left is a fold out revealing 3 spots
for photos (I took an old Starbucks gift card holder for the basic pattern)
I love the look of the pocket on the left.  I fussy cut the paper
and then cut more of the flowers weaving them into themselves

God's In Charge

Sentiment is a rub on from My Sentiments Exactly - Butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch glittered with Crayola glitter glue. I'm not sure you can tell from this picture but the paper has been overstamped in violet with a Delta stamp called Saldage Sprig.

This lace is actually laser cut paper ribbon, it comes in a three pack roll (self adhesive) from Basic Grey Kioshi collection.

This tiny butterfly is a rub on from Basic Gray and then I put Glossy Accents over the top. Pearls are Kaiser crafts.

Imagine

I had these funky ribbons that I got from EBAY and decided they were just what this card needed to jazz it up. The brad is from the Antique Brads collection from Stampin Up.

I cut the little tag with my cricut and SCAL and then inked it heavily with Distress inks.

This gorgeous paper is from the Indian Summer 6x6 pad from Basic Grey, and yep that's just one piece.

Entered in the Creative Belli Blog Challenge #93 - Using Rub Ons

I've had these wonderful rub ons from Basic Grey for quite some time and they seemed to work perfectly on this card. Larger mat is a free paper that was in the Spring 2010 Take Ten Magazine.

Inside floral is from October Afternoon, The Thrift Shop Collection

I didn't have the right colored stones so ended up coloring some pearls with my Copics to match

The small mat has been run through the Cuttlebug embossing folder Floral Fantasy and then inked with Spiced Marmalade and Brushed Corduroy Distress Inks. Butterfly has Glossy Accents added

Challenge Card

Sir Stampalot's May Challenge was Butterflies and Blossoms and I'm really liking how the end result of my challenge card came out. I did a lot of distressing with Tim Holtz Distress Inks to give it the soft blended look.

The sentiment is a Hero Arts Stamp - 'You make me smile'

The butterfly was punched twice from a Martha Stewart punch. The first was adhered directly to the paper, the wire antenna were added and then the top one pop-dotted up to let the wings fly. I put just a tiny bit of multi-colored glitter glue down the body to give it a little shimmer.

I ran the top mat through my Cuttlebug embossing folder Swiss dots after I had applied the Basic Grey flower rub on. It really pressed the rub on into the paper and you'd be hard pressed (no pun intended, lol) to see that it's a rub on now

Diva Darling

Yesterday my friend Marsha and I had a play date. We got together and oohed and ahhed over what the other had bought in the recent weeks, you know addicted people like to stick together! She showed me this darling stamp she'd gotten at Michaels, hmmm same one I looked at but put back, (I may be making a return trip soon.

The following two cards are for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge - Ribbon-Tastic    I used the bleach on this card as well (see explanation on the next card) but it didn't react as well with this paper and looked ugly and washed out so I painted it back in with a blue ink and my water pen.  I added the ribbon in the same way as the other card with the two holes but this time I just pulled it to the front side and added this darling little flower from KC and Company.  The Fabulous stamp is from a clear set from Fiskars.

Marsha had seen this technique where you emboss and then use a water pen filled with bleach to bleach out portions that hadn't been embossed. That's why the dress above shows lighter between the embossing.

I attached the bow with a method I'd seen Gina K use, by punching two holes taking the ribbon from the front to the back through the holes, crossing over and coming to the front in the opposite hole, I love this technique. This beautiful Princess rub on is one I've had in my stash from Basic Grey. This is also my entry into the Theme Thursday Challenge - Flourish

This dress also has the bleaching technique used on it.  I've added a couple more rub ons from that same Basic Grey set and the stones are new ones I got from Martha Stewart, the side punch is EK Success.
