Cricut Cart Forever Young

I borrowed a friend's Cricut Cartridge Forever Young this week and had stumbled upon The Pink Stampers video making a card with the package cut.

I had this Martha Stewart ribbon that is self adhesive and thought it would make a great vertical border. The paper scalloped border is cut with one of my favorite EK Success punches.

This paper is from Debbie Mumm, I just love it.

The celebrate is a rub on from Imaginisce. I'm going to be using this card as my Express Yourself Swap card for the Yahoo group I'm in, Crafty Card Creators.

What's The Word

I saw this great card in the June issue of Cards magazine where Ashley Newell had used a clothespin at the top of the card, it was just such an eye catching idea I had to try it on these two bird cards I made.

Graduation Dolls

Using Everyday Paper Cards Cart for my Cricut Expression I made 3 cards for Graduates in their school colors.  Various chipboard pieces were added as accents and I'm sorry I didn't keep track of what came from where. 

You Go Girl and Wow are rubber stamps from a Grab Bag I got from My Sentiments Exactly.  Solid papers are from Debbie Mumm

The numbers are Glitter stickers from K & Co. 

 My other half isn't so keen on these, he thinks they look too little kid.  So give me your opinion before I send them out and regret it, do you think they're ok for my nieces and nephews who are graduating, I'm thick skinned I can take your honest opinion!

Hola!

This card was made for the Around the World Challenge #3-Mexico at Clips-n-Cuts  Loved the bright primary colors.  If you haven't played along it's a must!  At the end of the challenge you'll have the opportunity to vote for your favorite interpretation/inspiration of the picture.

I used alpha Glitter Stickers from K & Company for the Hola and a stamp from Hero Arts - All Occasion set for the 'just saying hello'

Sombrero was cut from the Paper Doll Dress up Cart and my Cricut Expression.

Blue cardstock backgrounds embossed with my Cuttlebug and the Swirls and Dots and Texture folders.

Sweet Dreams with Babies

I just got the Wild Card Cart for my Cricut and made this darling carriage card. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the carriage with the Spots and Dots folder. The outside card paper is from an old wallpaper book, I inked the edges to take a little of the shine off.  Bottom edge of the envelope had a strip attached where I used an EK border punch to make the scallops.

This darling sentiment is from a book of Vellum Baby sayings from JoAnn fabrics. I think the whole book was less than a dollar in the clearance bin! 

You can barely see it but there is also a Debbie Mumm rub on under the saying.

Love the scalloped edged to the envelope!  I took the advice of a friend and used my Copic markers to dye the lace to match the card, worked like a dream!

Feel Like a Princess

OK no snickers from the gallery please :-) This is my first attempt at making something with the Cricut Cartridge Paper Doll Dress Up.

It took me forever but I haven't used the Cricut much and cartridges even less so it took me a while to get familiar with all the buttons available.

I think this is the cutest cartridge, it has over 50 different dolls you can make, not counting all the accessories like the dragon and castle.

I'm anxious to play again, but I can tell you the hardest part is going to be deciding what paper choices I want to use. I added some bling for the eyes, colored the little princess face with copics that is after I had added the black mouth line, icky, will do better next time. Used some glitter glue and Glossy Accents on the crown and painted some hemp string with my copics to match her dress. I'll be anxious to see what the experts say (my Granddaughters) when they receive this card in the mail next week!

A Perfect Blend

A new stamp set by Fiskars called Latte Love - the coffee cup is pieced using different papers from LA Creme matstack from DCWV, kraft cardstock for the card base.

Sentiment embossed with versimark, I'm not liking this white embossing powder think I'm going to have to buy a new one.

Button and hemp string colored with Copic markers to match the paper.

Sentiment is from My Sentiments Exactly Rub on. White mat embossed with Cuttlebug Floral Fantasy folder, edges inked.  Card base from Martha Stewart papers, love her cardstock!!!

Around The World Challenge 1

Vicky from Clips-n-Cuts has started a new challenge this week. She'll post a picture from some where around the world for inspiration and you take it from there. Well I must say this was harder than I thought! I loved the photo she used, of course it's Greece because that's where Vicky is from, such a beautiful country! I loved the sharp contrast of blue and white with the hint of cream but no matter what I tried I just couldn't seem to achieve that clean crisp look this time around, so the following is what I ended up with, perhaps I'll still have time to try it one more time.

I had just picked up these metal embellishments from JoAnns and was itching to use them, this will be an anniversary card so perfect sentiment. The papers are a mix, the Solid blue from Debbie Mumm's Textured Cardstock pack, the print I believe is K & Co but don't quote me on that, the card base is plain white cardstock.

I embossed the blue triangle with my Cuttlebug and the Traffic Jam folder and then used a sanding block to lift some of the blue from the paper and finished by using my Tim Holtz destressor on the edges.

I wrapped and tied brown hemp string around it knotting in several places.

I wish I could name the stamp for you.  It came stamped in the mail from a friend and I don't know whose it is. I colored it with my Copic markers.
