Heartfelt Wishes

I saw this idea on Gina Ks Stamp TV called Split Negative. I didn't have a stamp as large as hers and realized after I was done I probably should have done the one ink gold but never the less I like the effect this makes. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss two of the layers and stamped it with a stamp from Inkadinkado. This will be for the Express Yourself Swap at Crafty Card Creators.
This is the second card I made using the other halves of the split negative. The two cream colored papers are from a discontinued wallpaper book. The stamp is Kathy Davis from Inkadinkado, the metallic strip across the bottom is from Paper Wishes Stickies collection

Blessings Swap Card

Made for the Word Swap at Crafty Card Creators Yahoo Group. You were to use the word Blessing. The dotted paper is from a new paper pak from Ancestry.com (it was a gift from my Secret Santa :-) I used one of my new Fancy Folders corner Cuttlebug embossing folders to make the embellishment next to the greeting. It was embossed, colored with my Marvy Markers and then the outer edges were covered with Glossy Accents. Florish on sentiment is from the digital kit Butterfly Wings 3 Element Pak from Cottage Arts

Yee Haw Christmas

I just loved this stamp from Stampin' Up. The stamp portion that went with it said Yee Haw and have a Merry Christmas. I loved the saying but had a hard time getting the stamp positioned correctly so gave up on a bunch of them and just added my own sentiment.

Clear Embossing

I see this technique a lot, where you use a clear embossing over a color, that's what I did behind the ornaments and I really like the look.

This is the last of the 3 cards I made with the one piece of 12x12 cardstock. I used my Marvy Markers to color in this picture I found from a coloring book site online. I know our friend (who's an avid golfer) is going to get a big kick out of his card!

OK here's the card I made with the new toys I bought last night, Hero Arts All Occasion Clear Stamp Set and Cuttlebug Embossing folder Leafy Branch. I inked the tops of the leaves with several colors of Color Box ink added the ribbon and brad (not sure where the brad is from. This is the first of 3 cards I made from the one sheet of 12x12 cardstock from Martha Stewart.

Dancing Reindeer

This was done for a color challenge at my Yahoo group. You were to use Pink - Green and Cream. I fudged a little and am saying the reindeer are 'dark' cream. This is a HOliday stack from DCWV that I love. and the snowflakes are a pack from KC & Co, I just tinted this one green to make the colors. Fun fun fun.

Owl Embossing Folder

I picked up this cute Cuttlebug Embossing folder yesterday and just had to play with him. I used a wallpaper piece to emboss him on and then cut around the outer edges that were curved with the leaves. I ran some Cats Eye inks over the edges of the emboss to give him dimension and adhered him to a piece of printed cardstock that I had inked the edges with deep green. I tore the edges of the brown cardstock and inked them along the edge of the card base. The ovals with cut with Spellbinders Nestibilities and stamped with a random stamp I had in my drawer.

Kristine Werner is doing the 25 days of Christmas Cards on her blog. This idea came from her video today. I'm having a hard time getting the embossing to be as crisp as hers is. I'm thinking maybe it's the powder I bought so I'm going to hunt for some clear and see if it creates a sharper design.

The ladies are a download from Dover Publications. The punch is Martha Stewart. I print the ladies 3 times cut and adhered them in a layered effect, inked the edges and added the border.

Little Snowmen

The challenge - to create a card with Little Snowmen, well mine aren't all snowmen, or are they?? I used my new Martha Stewart punch which I love. I had kept 4 pastel strips that were the remains of other cards I had done, I almost tossed them becasue they were less than an inch wide and I'm so glad I didn't. When I got home with the new punch today they were the perfect size to make edgers for my cards. The bottom of the blue and white strips were made with a tearing tool I just got from Creative Memories. The little 'snowmen' are from a JoAnn paper stack called Peppermint Forest

November Word Swap

The challenge was to use the word 'treasure' in a general card, one that could be customized to fit any occasion.

The little girl is a digital coloring book download - Sarah Kay. Quote is my own, paper DCWV. This is the first time I've colored a stamp like this. I used my new Marvy Markers and I love it can't wait to do another one. Her face is a little funky but practice will make that better.

Wait!! Don't Throw That Away!

You know this card business can become obsesive! We went to Costco this afternoon and the other half bought a jug of peanuts. When he opened the lid and peeled the perfectly clean seal off, I said 'don't toss that in the garbage I can put it through my Cuttlebug'. Well I think he's getting used to these statements, he just calmly handed it over. It was a perfect circle and backed by a heavy weight white glossy back. It went through the Cuttlebug like butter and the embossing was deep and nice.

I cut a half inch slit all around the perimeter and wove a ribbon through it, added some pop dots and adhered it to the front of my card. The cardstock is from the new DCWV Holiday Collection. I embossed a couple of snowflakes from a set of Christmas Memory Makers stamps on the front, inked the edges and added a square of paper inside. I cut a strip of the cardstock and ran it through my Bug with the snowflake embossing folder and added it to the bottom of the inside.

I like how my trash to treasure turned out!!

Border Strips

I have had these laser cut border trims and finally dug them out tonight to add to the border edge I made with my new EK Punch, which I love, it's so smooth when you press it, unlike the Fiskars one I have that you have to stand up to push.

I also used one of the Cuttlebug border edge embossing sets - Just My Type -for both edges on the front of the card. I added a pretty flourish stamp on the inside and heat embossed. I'm really lovin' this heat embossing but I'm thinking I should add some colors other than just white to my drawer. The center strip on the front is the wheel stamp Kindness from Stampin Up

Everyday Card

I just got this scalloped die from Spellbinders. I love how it cuts but am having a little difficulty getting the embossing down pat in my Cuttlebug. Background white was embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder. The paper under the oval has been stamped with a roller stamp from Stampin Up. The paper is some I got from Costco last year that's like a natural paper fiber. I love it and just wish I'd bought several packages.The card didn't seem large enough when I finished so I attached it to a framing of purple cardstock, so it's a little different but I like the look.
