approached I went in search of some papers that had that 'man' feel about them

I opted to use the Destinations pack

I have a friend who celebrates her Sobriety day each year.

I know, even after 25 years that this is a special time of

accomplishment for her.

This card is a celebration of that commitment

The paper was in a RAK I received so I'm not sure of the paper line.

I bought this stamp at Michaels on impulse (it's a Hampton Art Stamp) and then when I started coloring realized I wasn't going to be mass producing them, took a lot of time to color. Love how it looked when finished though.

Here's another stamp from the Recollection set I got.

I stamped the tree 4 times on the print paper and then cut out each layer

of boughs and popping them up for dimension.

I also restamped and cut out all the little packages to give them a little umph as well.

After the card front was finished I added the stickles for the baubles on the tree

and sprayed the whole thing with Glimmer Mist Iridescent Gold Mist

The Merry & Bright stamp was in a RAK I received.

This was just a design from the paper cut out for the inside.

Another stamp set from Penny Black's - Mimi's Christmas

The white from her hat is white flocking (love this stuff)

I used the Cuttlebug Snowflake embossing folder on the front of the card base

(just before I mailed it I decided it needed a little pop so I distressed the edges of the front of the card and the ridges from the embossing with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, much better.)

The ribbon is actually cut from one of the papers from the Warm Wishes Recollections paper pak

I punched the tag with my square Marvy scalloped punch

The little Mimi's face is done with Copic markers
her hat and scarf are paper pieced
the bow was in a rac (thanks Lori)

Snowmen Peeking

I made two cards with the same strip of snowmen that I

cut from the Warm Wishes paper collection from Recollections

The background paper is We R Memory Keepers Christmas Collection

I added a few stickles to the hats

and gave their noses a shine with glossy accents

the stamp here is from a Christmas Recollections set, it's

fast become a favorite because the quirky font and snowflakes

the sentiment as well is cut out from the paper,

stickles make the inside shine

This is the second card and I put them so half the

little faces were hidden all but the eyes and hat.

Another stamp from Mimi's Christmas by Penny Black. I am in love with this stamp set, oh wait did I say that a couple of post back, sorry it's worth repeating! The stamps just stamp so nice I know I'm adding more of these to my collection! I stamped the little angel directly onto the mat (papers from Recollections Warm Hearts)

Then I restamped her again on white, heavy cardstock, and on the pink which is a natural fibre paper (I got it years ago at Costco) but the paper is very fiberous, like real handmade paper. I accented the one I stamped on the paint with just a little deeper pink with my Copics. I colored the one stamped on white and cut her out minus the halo and feet and then paper pieced them all together.

I painted her little halo and shoes directly onto the mat. Sentiment is also from this collection.

Inside sentiment is Stampin Up

The ribbon was a super buy at a local craft store when they were selling all their spring/summer things out. 90% off!!!! The ribbon is wire edged so easy to manipulate where you want.

Skating into the Holiday

This time I used my Cricut and the Winter Woodland Cartridge to cut the Skate out.

I just tore a piece of extra heavy white glitter cardstock to form the snowbank across the bottom for the skate to rest on.

The stamp is from the dollar bin, Studio 18 - Mary Engelbret

The little snowflakes are a Fiskars mini punch

The card base is a pad of 12x12 paper from Michaels

Recollections Classic Christmas, it's a

colored core paper, which means you can sand the top layer away to reveal

a different color under neath, in this case white.

Christmas Advent Boxes

For each of my four youngest grandchildren I made a Kaisercraft Beyond the Page Advent Calendar. I absolutely loved making these, Kaisercraft sends you everything you'll need to assemble the box and drawers. There are 24 drawers, one for each day leading up to Christmas and then I tucked a special envelope with 25 on it in the middle. They'll get to open one drawer each day to discover a candy, gift or money. I'm anxious to hear their feelings about having a gift from Grandma each day of December.

You can follow along and watch how I assembled and covered the little drawers in the first video

I printed out directions for opening the little drawers onto Kraft Cardstock and attached it to a full 12x12 decorative paper from the Warm Wishes or Snowy Days collections from Recollections.

I covered each page in clear contact paper, added

ATG glue to the back and attached them to the tops of the storage boxes.

Each Advent Calendar fix just perfectly in these Art Bin boxes from JoAnns

And having a handle to pick them up by is the perfect touch for storing until the next year.

Each middle of the calendar was filled with a background paper scene

some ornaments from JoAnns and Michales, little chipboard pieces

from K & Company

Each one is different depending on the Grandchild

I was making it for.

In the middle is a special envelope for Christmas Day

I decorated around the edges with either beads,

ribbon or sequin strips.

This stamp was in a rubber grab bag from My Sentiments Exactly
after I'd stamped it I realized I'd used the clear embossing on it
and it wouldn't show up so I lightly used Very Vanilla Craft ink from Stampin Up
to bring out the embossing, I really liked the way it looked after that.

last year, it included the snow ribbon slide shown.

I paper pieced the hat and scarf on Mimi from printed paper that matches

the card base.

Cherish Happiness

I made this card for a dear friend of mine getting inspiration from Melissa Phillips in the June 2010 Cards Magazine. I layered papers which I inked heavily under the lace.

The lighting on this photo is horrid but I wanted you to see the card from this angle so you'll have to overlook it. The flower is one I received in a swap at YPP from Natalie Wathins, thanks Natalie, I love it! I stuck a stick pin I had made through the flower and lace to finish it off.

The bling inside and out is from Recollections, the butterfly from Websters Pages. Under the sentiment I took a page from an old novel and tore and inked the edges. I used Vintage Photo, Peeling Paint and Worn Lipstick Distress inks on the print to give it the same tones as the papers. The sentiment I printed out on my computer and inked it with the above Distress Inks.

The little ticket is from the Tim Holtz idea-ology line and the stamped sentiment on it was from a set of old Stampin Up stamps I picked up at a garage sale. The base of the card is Kraft Cardstock.

Tubby Tabitha

OK Marlene over at Disguised as a Grown Up has done it again with her digital images. This one is just way too cute, she named her Tubby Tabitha and if you rush over there right now today you can pick her up for free before she pops into the stores.

Today she surprised us all with a new version where the bubbles aren't blue and she added a saying, you can find it here.

The inside reads: Personally I like the tickle your nose and drink me down bubbles myself.

I printed her 3 times and cut leg, arm, hair and facuet out once or twice and popped them up. Added a few stickles to the bubbles and glitter gel pen to the wine glass. Love that big toe!

I added a touch of Glossy Accents to her lips and toenails.

I made this set of flash cards for my youngest grandchild, Brynn who will be turning 2 on the 7th. She just loves flash cards and I thought it would be fun to make some for her myself. I'm missing a few letters, they'll go out in a later post, along with some shapes and numbers and some people ones. I want to do a set with photos of family and friends with captions like Uncle, Auntie, Grandma, Puppy, Kitty, etc etc etc. I think she's gonna love the feel and colors of these! And they were soooooooooo much fun to make!

Sometimes this is how I feel like I’m looking out at theworld from the inside and no one sees the real me in here. My life has evolved to the age of not knowingor sometimes caring what day or hour it is. Our life is most times uncomplicated and easy, we roll with whatevereach day brings and plan little. Mychildren have grown and the roles shifted to their shoulders instead of mine, Ino longer have to worry about school hours, or homework or the agony ofgrowing, a Grandma only has to smile and love. I can do that. We hop in the carand travel and see, me with the camera in hand and lens open to seeing theworld about me with new vision, seeking beauty in just the everyday. I cherish all this time I get to create, toplay with pixels and paper. Howwonderful to start with a blank screen or bits of paper and bling and end up withsomething that makes me happy to share my creative side with those I love.

Life, it’s certainly changed, it’s gentler to me now, orperhaps I’m more gentle to myself at this stage of my life.

I made this card for my daughter and son-in-law for their anniversary.

Don't ya just 'luv' these litter gators?

This is a digital stamp from The Paper Shelter

I used Copic Markers for coloring and restamped the image a second time on

plain white cardstock. After coloring I cut out all the colored pieces and

glued them on top the stamped image.

The cat tails have an additional layer of Doddlebug Design crushed velvet on them

And the hearts have been popped up for dimension and covered with Glossy Accents

The 'love' sentiment I got at Michaels in the Wedding section
I used a fine mist of Tattered Angels Iridescent Gold over the whole card
and then added a smattering of Diamond Stickers to the sky

This card is for the Peachy Keen Let's Face it Friday - Shaped Cards Challenge

I used the Cricut Paisley Cartridge and the first cut on it, the Snail. I loaded the shape into my Gypsy and made it into a folded card. The front circles have been run through my Cuttlebug.

Because the glasses on the stamped face are a little short I just extended them a tad
and added Glossy Accents to make the glasses shine.

Charlie's Wishes

This is a birthday card for my son-in-law.

I thought he'd like Charlie and the Graphic 45 Curtain Call papers.

The card is a #10 size and the envelope is actually

one I had in a pack of Christmas envelopes.

I covered the front cinnamon sticks with the curtain call

ticket and it really goes well with the card, I distressed

the envelope just a little with Vintage Photo.

I've seen so many cards lately where the inside is finished to match the front.

I really like this idea, before it just never seemed like my card were done.

I think I'll be doing a lot more of the inside stuff going forward.

I was in such a hurry to get this packaged and ready for Monday's post I forgot to take photos. But, I figured out how to use the frames from the video and they are below.

The book was made with the Black Currant paper stack from DCWV

Front cover has a spray from Webster's Pages,

charms from Recollections,

a Stick Pin and label made from my computer and covered with Crystal Lacquer

The original 7Gypsies book that I used for the base

came with a spiral binding, which of course was way too small.

I removed it and added ribbons, tied in bows and double knotted.

I ran a thread of Glossy Accents across the end of each ribbon

to keep them from fraying

This little book pulls out and opens to form a 12 spots for 3x3 photos.

The left page is an acetate mat with the photo mat slipped behind

The right side is a three page fold out when untied

Under the belly band is an accordian fold out of mats

Frames are cut with a Spellbinders die

Mad Hatter's Mini Album

I created this mini album for my daughter Amber. Her hubby gave her a surprise party in January when I was home visiting - The Mad Hatter Tea Party - to be exact. Well I just loved the Graphic 45 paper, Halloween in Wunderland and thought it would perfect for a mini. Here's the results:

I used Mod Podge on the front cover to create a stronger surface, since this will be what's handled the most.

Heavy Glossy Accents were added to the fussy cut tea set
and then popped up to give dimension to the front.

If you're going to adhere a heavy layer of glossy accents be sure and leave plenty of drying time,
set the item aside where you'll keep your hands off of it for overnight or longer!

An assortment of charms dangle on the front,

including the key with a crown up top,

very appropriate for Alice.

The door knob is from the Tim Holtz collection

Pages have numerous pockets and interactive elements. I had watched a series of Paper bag tutorials on Kathy Orta (Paper Phenomenon)Y ouTube on how to construct this mini. She's fabulous, with amazing inspiration and techniques, check her out.

The mini is constructed of six paper bags hinged together with Tyvac and covered completely with the Graphic 45 paper. I used just the paper and bags the first go around and found the bags I was using were inferior (not strong enough for this purpose) and the binding began to tear apart. I took the binding apart (oh how I hate to REDO!!!!) and redid the binding gussets using tyvac which won't tear and will hold up to lots of opening and closing.

I took this little frame and added Alice from the collection from the back side and then layered Glossy Accents over the top, up close it looks like she's behind glass. Flowers are Recollections.

The Queen's right side is loose so the mat slips behind, the back side holds a large photo.

Paper flower is made from old book papers and sprayed with Olive Glimmer Mist. And the guy in the hat is my son-in-law, the kind gentleman who came up with this great idea for a surprise party.

The Rosette flower is a die cut I received from Leanne Clark in a swap, it worked perfectly for my book. There are numerous other flowers that I used in this book from swap I participated in, and unfortunately I took the flowers from the backing pieces and failed to keep the names of the creators, so a big thank you if you recognize your flower creation in my mini.

Each end has room to slide a huge mat down the inards of the paper bag.

Loved this little interactive matchbook, it's probably my favorite part of the whole book. I used Crystal Lacquer on the Queen and loved how it turned out. It's much thinner than Glossy Accents and seems to dry much quicker and with less bubbles.

I attached two velcro tabs on the inside to keep the matchbook closed while in the page pocket.

All these little cards were included in the paper collection

so I simply distressed the edges with Vintage Photo

and stamped the Remember on the front.

and added my photos to the backside

I added a vellum sheet to the back inside cover and then slipped a card inside it to be able to write a personal note to my daughter when I give her the mini album.

Photo Shop and I were great compainions throughout the making of the book. It allowed me to scan and change the Mad Hatter's hat to Amber's name and birthdate with a popped up addition on the hat. I also used it to alter the size of the photos to fit the mats and pages I had.

This is the back of the Mad Hatter tag. Look familiar? Yep I used a Graphic 45 package insert that buttons came in. I just couldn't part with it and then after I'd distressed it with Vintage Photo didn't want to cover it up either. So I left it so she can either journal or put a picture on it.

In Kathy's minis this was a separate interactive piece which had a cover that came down and inserted behind the belly band to close it. I found that mine began to wrinkle as I took it in and out so I attached the gusseted folder to the page and took the front flap off (which later became another tag) I liked it much better this way.

In each pocket of the folder are these removable inserts which hold two tabbed mats

with room for a photo on front and back.

Here's the back cover which is actually the back cover from the Graphic 45 paper collection.
The cover was heavier weight paper and glossy so it worked perfectly for the outside cover of my book.

Flocking

Amber, (child number 3) sent me a box of goodies for Mother's Day. Included was a set of little bottles of colored flock, something I'd never used. I really anticipated them being messy and not easy to use but curiosity got the best of me and I had to try it. Wow was I surprised and really happy with the finished effect. I think I can safely say flocking is one of my favorite things to punch up a card with now. Thank you Amber!!!!

Barb Duhamell sent me a rak about the same time Amber's package came. In Barb's was this wonderful paper pad of Melissa Frances called 5th Avenue. This is the first Melissa Frances product I have and I love the papers, so soft, so beautiful. It just worked perfectly for my card. I stamped the side of the paper with a stamp from Rubber Stampede called Solidago Sprig and then used the purple flocking on the buds of the flower. What a pop this gives the card.

I punched the butterflies 3 times, placing the first directly on the paper and popping the other two one atop the other.

A very fast simple card that has a lot of punch when sent.
Try out flocking if you haven't already, I don't think you'll be disappointed with the results.

Isn't she just the cutest little girl? I took her from the Uptown Girls Digital collection from Cottage Arts. She comes black and white when printed and I used my Copic markers to color her in. The little chipboard heart is one I've been moving around for quite some time now. I used Candy Apple Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels and love the effect it produced.

Painted Embossing

I embossed the pink mat with the Floral Embossing folder and then painted it with Distress Ink and a water brush.

The sentiment is a rub on, the flower from a swap. I heavily Glimmer misted the leaves (which are Recollections) and up close and personal they shimmer and shine with a lot of gold fleck.

I ran across an old set of 12 CDs by ClickArt buried in my closet. They are just loaded with all kinds of clip art. While browsing I ran across this darling little cherub and decided to see how baby would look on a card. Well darn now I have a whole new world of inspiration at my fingertips. I'm sooooooo glad I didn't get rid of these CDs. The formats on the CDs are a little wonky but nothing that saving here and resaving under a different format didn't cure!

I stamped the heart (it includes the script) onto some card stock.
It's a Fiskars stamp from a set just called 'Baby.

Edge punch is Moroccco Lace by EK Success, this is one of my favorite border punches!

After I had cut my shoes out with the Forever Young cart on my Cricut I had the reverse on the paper, so I laid it on a mat and used Tattered Angels leather mist on it. I really like the way it turned out.

The sentiment on the hat if from a Fiskars stamp pack. I believe the ribbon strip is a self sticking Martha Stewart ribbon.

Kathryn from Life on the {Scrap} Beach was recently featured on the Graphic 45 blog and did a card using this gal from their Curtain Call line. I just LOVED her card, you can see the whole article here. She used an 8x8 pack and of course the lady was reduced significantly and better suited for card making. I liked her so well though that I decide to do a #10 sized vertical card and here's the end result. I really like how she came out.

The kit - Art Doll Fashionistas!

I think this is my favorite of the three cards I made using Beth Rimmer's new kit Art Doll Fashionistas! It's over at her store at Deviant Scrap, be sure to check out all her designs, they are just so fun to work with!

On this I printed the hat and tail twice and popped them up. The tail I added teal glitter glue to give it a shimmer and glued the top portion directly to the card gradually adding pop dots to the tail to give it that lifted look, I also left the top fins free to float. I printed the Day Dreamin' on the computer and inked the edges with teal and Vintage Photo.

Here's a bit of the envelope, the mermaid body extends to the front of the envelope as well as this part on the back.

Kathy at the Scrapbeach recently did a card using this paperline from Graphic 45 and I loved it so I had to make one myself. This is Once Upon a Springtime it came from a crafting friend, Barb, in a RAK she sent me, thanks Barb I just love this paper pack.

I used some glitter on the wings and Glossy Accents on the flowers.

Pearl strands are from Prima flowers are a from Petaloo, Recollections and I'm unsure of the larger cream colored one.

Tucked behind the flowers and image is a small tag that when removed says "Coffee Break?"

All Dressed Up

My good friend Vicky at Clips-n-Cuts posted a darling card she'd made using a dress form. Well I just couldn't stand it.

I had the Cricut Cartridge of my friends sitting here: Forever Young, and on it was this darling dress form. Well once I got started I just had to keep on making them. The dress forms themselves are cut from the front and back cover of the K&Co 12x12 Paper Pad Olivia Rose. It's heavier weight and the hit and miss of words, numbers and prints from the packaging gave for some interesting dress forms.

Here is a close up of each card -

The background behind the dress form is a piece of lavender paper that I stamped with the Prima clear stamp - Recital. I then wet the paper and smooshed it all up in my hand, slowly pulling it back into shape and the using my heat tool to dry it. When dry I added a layer of Lindy's Stamp Gang Desert Moon Antique Rose spray.

The next dress is bordered from one of the acetate sheets that's included in the above mentioned paper pack. I used Glossy Accents on the belt and while wet sprinkled it with pink sparkle.

This is the first card I made, and what started the chain reaction. The border punch is Morocco Lace by EK Success and the paper is from the K&Co Susan Winget Spring Blossom Collection. The Sassy stamp is from Fiskars, I think it's called Girlfriends. I used Glossy Accents over it and the mat again was cut from the paper pad backing page.

With this one I also cut the hat from the cartridge and used a little bling on it. Inside the sentiment reads "It's Your Day" most insides I've left blank. I used a Mrs. Grossman's sticker on the front and then used a combo of Smooch spray in gold, Perfect Pearls in gold and water to spray the front.

Here I added the Sweet sentiment from a dollar stamp from We R Memory Keepers and stamped the hat from the Fiskars set I mentioned above using Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink and Glossy Accents over the top.

Another hat from the cartridge and an strip of the ruler and paper from the Olivia Rose Collection. The border punch is Apron Lace by Fiskars.

The checkered border was a die cut frame in the paper pack that I clipped and formed a smaller frame around my card, the heart was on some ribbon from Bo Bunny I had.

The mat here is embossed with my Cuttlebug and the Spots and Dots folder. I used a sanding block to distress the circles revealing the under color. The stamp is the same set, Girlfriends, from Fiskars. The black lace is Bo Bunny.

This last card I sprayed the lace, which started out white, with Tattered Angels Cranberry and then stamped the saying with a Fiskars stamp (do not have the name of this collection). The border punch again Apron Lace from Fiskars and the paper was Spring Blossom pack by K & Co.

And that's it. A great set of cards and a whole lot of fun. Thanks again Vicky for all your inspiration!

Momma

Dear Friends, for those of you who have followed my blogs over the years you've come to know my Momma through things I've written, Pages I've done, cards I've made. Momma passed away on Tuesday, very peacefully and with many friends and family near her. I will be with my family until February so my posts will be very far and few between for the next month. Thank you all for all the love and kind words you've offered about this remarkable lady. And for you new to my blog, Momma would have been 100 on July 10th. The night before she went to Hospice she still sat at her computer and played Scrabble for 45 minutes. She never complained, never said a harsh word about anyone and always had time for you. A truly genuine lovely lady!

Paint Stick Mini Album

At Your Paper Pantry I joined a new swap for January called Stirring up Crafty Goodness. The idea being to go to Home Depot and get some one gallon wood paint sticks which measure 1"x12" and embellish them with red and purple (this month's swap colors). Kind of like the colors the Red Hatters use.

So that prompted me to use a digi kit Beth Rimmer just created called Call of the Wild, it's at Deviant Scrap if you want to take a look. Beth had created these cool embellies, like the mannequin lady left (although I chopped off her digi feathers and gave her real red Marabou feathers I found at Michaels. I also took the liberty, per Beth's ok, to change her dress to purple stripe from the original black.)
If you're handy with your computer and a graphics program (I used Photo Shop here) then don't overlook the vast opportunities that await you in digital kits. The possibilities just grow and grow with what you can make. I covered the lady pretty heavily with Glossy Accents (works great but you must allow overnight drying time)

I added a rose (I think they are from I Am Roses, it was a RAK so not positive) to the top of the stick with Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive. I really love this stuff and so far have only found it locally at JoAnns.With the addition of the tulle and some bling that set the top.

The birds are also digi's from Beth's kit, I loved the bird and roller skates, and the red hat one! So perfect for this theme. Again covered extra heavy in Glossy Accents. The paper was sprayed with Tattered Angels Cranberry and Lindy Stamp Gang Desert Moon Antique Rose.
The tag at the top says Birds of a Feather, I printed it on the computer then misted it. It really blurred the wording but after looking at it for a bit decided I kinda liked that look and left it alone. You really can't add too much at the top considering this will be punched and you'll bind all six sticks from the swap together when you're done, (check back next month I'll have pics of the completed mini to show you)

I made the journaling/photo tags from DCWV Once Upon a Time collection and folded them and made a clasp with a brad Stampin Up I believe. added a little bling and a paper clip from JoAnns for the top one.

These are mine, six will be sent to the moderator of the Swap Group at YPP who in turn will pair them with five others and return them to me so I'll a whole mini album of six pages when I'm done. I'll post an updated picture of them all at that time.

This is the fourth of this set for my friend. Now can you see why I scooped up these new K & Co Paper packs? I guess after the snow, cool temps and cloud cover here in Southern Utah I was drawn to something bright and Springy! This again is the Spring Blossom Paper Pad.

This petal soft yellow flower is one cut from the White Rose Trim put out by Bo Bunny. I again used my Gold Glow Smooch spray and rubbed the tops lightly with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The great yellow ribbon I picked up at my LSS for 85% off after season last year. I love it because it's wire edged.

Sentiments also from My Sentiments Exactly as the previous 3 cards. I bungled up the inside and rubbed the sentiment on crooked so I had to improvise by adding another ink edge mat and a new sentiment. That's the glory of paper crafting you can almost always hide the goobers! The top mat, Daisy Garden, is from the Spring Blossom Seed Pocket Die-Cut Cardstock package. I've never used these little packages of goodies until someone gave me one as a gift at Christmas time. As you can see I'm really loving how they can finish off my cards.

So sorry I can't remember who made this stick pin, it's from the November Stick It To You swap at Your Paper Pantry. If you recognize your handiwork please let me know so I can give you credit!

Another for my gift set of cards. This is the back side of the paper from the previous post. I used a new EK Success border punch I got for 80% off at JoAnns, what a deal!!! The punch is called Graceful Heart which will be perfect for Valentines!

The die cuts are precut from K & Co in their Spring Blossom Icons Die-Cut Cardstock and Acetate Collection.

I really like this ribbon punch from Fiskars and must admit I often forget I have it and don't use it as often as I could. It's called Leaver It to Weaver.

Sentiments are the Inspirations/Encouragement set from My Sentiments Exactly. I sprayed the inside of the card with Gold Glow Smooch Spray, it's a little hard to see here but it gives the inside a great shimmer.

Plain Janes Dressed Up

I kept hearing everyone talking about UTEE and finally ran across it in the store. Well I stuffed it in with my embossing things and still hadn't tried it so this afternoon I thought I'd see what I could make with these plain paper flowers, you know the cheap kind that come in a tube that have no personality!

The flowers have been sitting in my drawer for 2 years, I've used a couple but they just looked Plain-Jane and didn't do a thing for me. Today I took each one and rubbed them with Tea Dye Distress Ink, then a heavy coat of UTEE and heat embossed, wow they looked better already.

Next I layered the three individual petals for each flower with some Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive. In the middle I used one bud from the Recollections flowers at Michaels which I had ran across the tea dye ink pad a couple of times.

After they'd dried I sprayed them with a mist I made of water, Perfect Petals bronze and a couple of drops of Old Paper Distress Reinker. I then hit them with the heat gun again. Let them sit a while and hit them one more time to blend and melt everything together.

I rather like how my Plain Janes turned out.

I got this great paper pack from K & Co by Brenda Walton called Oliva Rose. I just love the papers and when I started making cards they just grew and grew. Here's a few I've completed.

Part of the paper collection is a sheet of transpariences. I love the look of this one. The stamp is from Inkadinkado, Kathy Davis Flowers.

I added a couple of K & Co Handmade Gem Flowers to the centers of the ones I cut out from the paper. I glued the tight to the edge and pop-dotted them on the inside edges to give them lift.

Like the look the jagged swirls I added.

Organza Petal Flowers

These flowers are made with the Organza Rose Petals by Wilton, I got mine at JoAnn Fabrics but I'm sure they're available in many fabric/craft stores and come in a variety of colors. The middles are from a garland of summer flowers that I got at a local craft store on close out for 80% off! In other words almost nothing. I cut all the flowers from the garland and stuffed them in a zip lock bag and threw away the rest. Since then I've looked at the bag a lot and wondered what on Earth I was going to do with all these flowers. Well, tonight I figured it out! See if you wait long enough everything has a usefulness.

My first video where I've tried to show how I created something so hang in there with me, comments are much appreciated! I decided to join the Flower Swap at Your Paper Pantry for January. The theme is tea-dyed and I sat and played tonight and came up with these ruffled petal flowers.This will be the first time I've swapped flowers and I must say I hesitated joining because of the gorgeous creations I've seen the others create. I made this for a friend's birthday. I thought it had a real masculine feel about it and that's what I wanted. I saw one similar in the June 2010 CARDS magazine. I loved the idea of using the eyelets as embellishments. I so seldom use eyelets and yet I really like the look of them

The 'special' is a JoAnn Essentials which came in six pack of metal embellishments. I used Versamark and black embossing powder. This is the first time I've tried embossing powder on something like this and it worked so cool (except it got pretty hot and I really warmed up my fingertip).

I Distress Inked the inside papers with Frayed Burlap and ran them (plain white printer paper with sentiment printed) through my crinkle crimper. Another thing I rarely use but I sure do like the effect. I also used it on the front mat paper of the world map.

I belong to Your Paper Pantry and if you so chose you could join and participate in a Secret Santa Swap. You filled out a questionnaire about what you liked and what you'd put on a wish list for Santa, in return you got someone elves to fill. I received my Secret Santa box in today's mail. We have a young friend who recently competed in the Bands of America which had their regional finals here in St George. Well low and behold they took first place (Clovis West High School in Clovis CA). We are so proud of him and his accomplishments and I wanted to make a card just personally for him.

The colors are his school colors gold and maroon. Papers are a mat stack I bought from Target (yeah can you believe Target?) they also came with matching color envelopes. The card base is AC Damask that I picked up at Tuesday morning, just love this cardstock, if you see it grab it!

The gold mat has been embossed with my Cuttlebug and the Musical embossing folder. Grungeboard # and Number 1 are Tim Holtz run through my XYRON upside down and then glittered (Yah Wooo I finally remembered to do this, works so slick). Bravo is a rub on from My Sentiments Exactly. All edges inked with Distress Ink.

I picked up a K&Company paper pak called Tim Coffey Fall and fell in love with the double side papers in it. These are all included in that pack. I used the Leave it to Weaver Fiskars border punch to thread the ribbon and punched the opposite side with the Apron Lace border punch. The butterfly was punched twice an EK Success punch. I put the bottom one flush then heavily Glossy Accented the top one and popped it up. The sentiment is a rub on from My Sentiments Exactly. Edges inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

I saw this wonderful card in the November issue of Cards Magazine by Vanessa Menhorn and took my inspiration for my card from her.

I've had the pack of Autumn leaves for a year or two. I had picked them up after the Holidays for next to nothing at JoAnns and this was just the perfect use for them!

Adding a button and a tad of ribbon just set off the front. The edges are inked with Vintage Photo Distress ink and so sorry but the papers were scraps and I'm not sure who they are from.

I used my Cricut Plantin Schoolbook cartridge to cut the tag out.

Paper is onion skin distressed with Vintage Photo Distress ink,

corners cut and embossed with a Fiskars corner/embosser punch

I lined the inside of the envelope with some of the matching paper.

My First You Tube Videos!

Have you wondered where I've been???? Hopefully you've noticed I've been gone, lol! We were away on vacation (check out my pics on my other blog Reflections of My Year) and then I've been working for a long long time on my first Mini Album. This was made from Paper Bags and a tremendous amount of time pouring over other creative divas on You Tube! The videos are uploaded to You Tube and are available for you to watch. (This was a whole other learning experience just figuring out how to upload and add a few online notes here and there - and it's taken forever!!! I now admire all those You Tubers out there I've been taking so much for granted!) And, yes, it took me two videos to go through the book, it's gonna take some time and experimentation to figure out the editing portion of this You Tube thing.

I have entered this card in the Artful Inkables Think Ink #28 Challenge -

To create something "Distressed Out"!

This stamp is one of my favorites. I love the tone on tone effect here. I used Martha Stewart's Trellis border punch along the edge, inked the lace and added the button. The papers are double sided card stock I got several years ago from Costco. So wish they'd offer it again, amazing quality and designs.

All the outer edges were distressed with the Tim Holtz distressing tool

I really didn't care for this paper, but once it was cut out on the Cricut and then inked it transformed before my eyes. The center thought is a rub on.

Hugs and Best Fishes

Vicky, from Clips-n-Cuts, has inspired me again with her darling Back To School fishes card. A friend had this darling set of fish stamps (I'm trying to find out the brand) and they were perfect for my Hugs and Best Fishes card

I used Crayola Glitter Glue to sparkle them up a bit. The waves are cut with a shaped scissor and then inked and stamped with the little sprays of what looks like sea foam.

I punched the oval out with a Fiskars punch then stamped another with my sentiment (printed from my computer) and pop dotted it on the inside.

Sentiment is a rub on from My Sentiments Exactly - Butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch glittered with Crayola glitter glue. I'm not sure you can tell from this picture but the paper has been overstamped in violet with a Delta stamp called Saldage Sprig.

This lace is actually laser cut paper ribbon, it comes in a three pack roll (self adhesive) from Basic Grey Kioshi collection.

This tiny butterfly is a rub on from Basic Gray and then I put Glossy Accents over the top. Pearls are Kaiser crafts.

I went to a friends last week and we made Vintage cards. I love the way this one turned out. You could have it either open at the top or the side.

I believe all the papers are Graphic 45 and this gorgeous flower came from our LSS - I don't have the name of the company, but it sure made my card pop!

I saw the video on You Tube for a Double Slider Card using a plastic strip from a bag. I thought I just had to try one! When you pull the ribbon at the top then the card slides out from middle towards the top and bottom. Pretty cool huh? (See the next two pictures)

The papers are from Creative Imaginations and the Boo is a rub on from Michaels

Halloween Card #2 is a tri fold card. I found this adorable ghost on Little Scraps of Heaven blog. It's a SVG file and I cut it out with my Cricut and then stamped the face with Peachy Keen Stamps Everyday Character Faces.

I used Kraft cardstock for the base and inked the edges with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.

Halloween Card #3 is another tri fold card. It's called something else when it's in this style but my minds gone tonight and I can't think of it.

The witch is a chipboard piece from Michaels. I used the Mosaic embossing folder on the one paper (papers are from Imaginations and Fancy Pants).

The chipboad BOO is from Melissa Frances' Fall Chipboard. I used Versamark on it and embossed several times with clear embossing (the same as I did the spiders). The spiders were cut from the Doodlebug Cart on the Cricut and then I added bling for the eyes. I got the eyelash yarn (the spiderweb) at JoAnns and attached it with glossy accents.

Halloween Card #4 is made by putting an acetate over the top of part of the card. The polka dot is actually and acetate sheet overlayed over the tree, fence and witch.

Monkey See

My youngest Grandchild is turning One on September 7th and I made this darling little monkey for her. Her Mommy always calls her 'Her Little Monkey' so I thought it would be very appropriate, lol.

This Debbie Mumm paper was such a buy! JoAnns was closing this line out and I got the Glitter (card stock set) for 80% off and the paper corresponding pack for $5.50 for 180 12x12 sheets. Oh how I love a bargain!

hmmm I always think I've inked the edges enough until I see it on blogger and then it looks like I didn't ink them at all, guess I'll have to work on that.
